Twice this week I experienced an odd sensation. I don’t think I was having a seizure because I didn’t have an aura and I didn’t have any Jacksonian-march sensations characteristic of all other seizures I’ve had.
What happens is I suddenly become confused about what constitutes the left and right sides of my body. For example, I was brushing my teeth and went to go wash the toothbrush off in the sink and couldn’t figure out which hand to use to turn on the water. Sensation is also different on both sides–the right side is markedly “duller” than the left, even more than usual (or what is usual for me since my second brain surgery).
During these spells the world looks as though I view it in a fisheye camera lens, and I feel like things are far away. I am clumsy and confused about the location of my body parts. And even if I am looking at my hands they feel foreign.
What say you?
If you have had more than one of these spells, they are brief (minutes or less), and each is the same as the one before, I would say that they likely do represent seizures. Tell me more about them please. I am considering getting an EEG on you…
