October 2011 letter to friends

An update written by Brett that was sent to my friends and family.

Friends of the Liz Army,

Wow, it has been a LONG time since we have sent out an update. Once again, it's been a "no news is good news" situation. After watching an exciting game 6 of the World Series at Bob's house in Novato, we drove out to Redwood City on Friday for Liz's MRI and neuro-oncology appointment.

Liz's awesome nurse practitioner was able to give us the good news that everything remains to looks stable. At this point, Liz has been off of chemo since May of this year. There is still some residual tumor around the tumor cavity (aka, the whole in Liz's brain where the bulk of the tumor used to be) but nothing has grown since the last surgery.

Other than that, we had a great trip to Rome at the end of September, and recently celebrated our first wedding anniversary! Can't believe it's almost Christmas time again. Hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween tomorrow, and Liz wanted me to be sure to mention that you can now "like" the Liz Army on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/lizarmy).

Sincerely,

Brett (and Liz)
