Goodbye Thursdays at 4 p.m.

I went to the local cancer support group yesterday. They meet every other Thursday at 4 p.m. I told them it would be the last time I could come to that support group because, starting next week, I won't be able to make it on that date and time.

Saying goodbye was bittersweet. Everyone wished me the best. There are people who are doing well and I want to make sure they continue to stay well. There are people in treatment who are scared and I want to see them finish treatment and be fine. There are people who left for surgery recently and I won't know the outcome because I won't be there if they return.
This makes my heart ache.
