If you had migraines you’d know it

I had a bad headache after playing tennis today so I went to Target and got some Excedrin Migraine. I have talked to my doctor about the headaches, but we believe they are not characteristic of migraines. However, Excedrin works for me.

Speaking of headaches, sometimes it seems like everyone has migraines.

I don't want to put down people who have actual migraines, but whenever I mention having a headache someone else wants to "top" me with how bad their headaches are by saying that they have migraines.

They ask if I have migraines and I say "I don't think so" and they say, "Well if you really had migraines you'd know it. Believe me."

Why do people feel the need to show off by saying their situation is worse?
